INCOMING PLACEMENTS TESTING DATES
INCOMING students (students NEW to CdM) who are trying to place into a level 2 class or higher in Spanish, French, or Mandarin or for current CdM students not currently enrolled in a language, who are looking to begin a course of study above Level 1. Languages Placement Testing will be given on Tuesday, May 27th from 1:30-3:30pm and Wednesday, August 13th from 12:00pm-2:00pm. Students should check-in at the Main HS office and will wait to be taken over to the testing location as a group. Testing will last approximately 30 minutes. For ASL students unsure about placement, they can contact Tammy Owney (towney@nmusd.us) directly.
Please bring a #2 pencil. (NO TEST NECESSARY FOR LEVEL 1 courses.) Please contact Elisa Ramirez at earamirez@nmusd.us or Shondra Pulido at spulido@nmusd.us to let us know you will be attending, what level you are testing into, or if you have any questions!

UC & CSU REQUIREMENTS
- C or better to count
- “Consecutive” language. Highest level completed in High school counts.
- 2 years required
- (3 years recommended)
- On-line courses NOT recommended, provide no verbal practice (required for upper levels, and AP test)
All languages and courses meet the UC/CSU entrance requirements.

OUR PROGRAM
All CdM high school students can enroll in a language course beginning freshman year. No prerequisites required for entry into a level 1 high school language course.
CdM offers a full course of study for the following languages:
- Spanish
- French
- Mandarin
- American Sign Language
