The Education Career Jumpstart program offers high school students the chance to gain hands-on experience working with elementary-school children in our local NMUSD summer programs while earning competitive pay and college credit simultaneously.

Three NMUSD educators were honored as the district’s top teachers of the year at the Newport-Mesa Schools Foundation’s Teacher Awards Night. They will also be recognized at the next board meeting.

The district has created Board Policy (BP) 5142.04 - Bicycles and E-Bikes to enhance student safety and provide clear guidance for students who choose to self-commute to and from school. This policy will be effective starting in the 2026-27 school year.

The 2026 winter athletic season highlighted the strength of NMUSD's programs, with league championships, CIF success, and continued growth. Student-athletes demonstrated resilience, teamwork, and a commitment to excellence in both competition and the classroom.
