Daily Announcements - Friday, January 24th

Last call for high school students to sign up for spring ROP classes. See Mama Mary in the LRC to register for classes. There are lots of great classes to take and colleges love to see them on your transcript!

Math students will be hosting a meeting in Mr. Zimmerman’s room (320) at lunch today. Drop in if you have any math questions before finals. You can stay as long as you want.

The Feminism Club will meet today at lunch in room 209 to discuss community service. Only high school students may attend. Please bring your student ID cards.

Attention all high schoolers: The annual Finals Fiesta will continue this year on Sunday the 26th from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM. The following teachers will be in attendance: Juarez, Dufour, Zimmerman, Pearsall, Vorona, Ngo, Miller, Palmer, Polychronopoulos, French, and May. Come down and study and enjoy some El Ranchito!

The 2v2 High School Basketball Tournament is approaching. Today is the last day to sign up in the quad at break. 

Comedy Sportz will have their second home game against Mission Viejo High School tonight in the Sea King Theatre at 7pm. Tickets are 5 dollars. 

Any parents interested in grad night and other senior events are invited to a planning/informational meeting Wednesday, January 22 at 10:00 in the LRC. This is especially designed for senior parents but other grade level parents are invited to help chaperone the big event on June 18th.

Don't miss the Little Shop of Horrors, Advanced Drama Showcase on February 5th-7th. 

Formal tickets are on sale now! Formal is February 8th from 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM at the AV in Irvine. Tickets go up in price, so buy them now! Tickets are available at the student store or online at our web store.

Do you know a deserving teacher, administrator, parent, volunteer or coach that would be perfect to receive the CDM PTA Honorary Service Award?  If so, please nominate them by February 14, 2020.  Please pick up forms in the front office or submit your nomination online. Flyer

Daily Announcements - Thursday, January 23rd

Today at lunch FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) will be having another huddle where you can listen to an encouraging message and eat some pizza.  Adam Goodman, a USC football player alumni, will be speaking!

This week National Honor Society is hosting Integrity Week to encourage all students to try your best on your finals and always do your own work.

Tomorrow be sure to wear your black Triton Spirit shirt to get free candy at lunch at the lunch rally.

A few weeks ago, the CDM Sailing Team competed in its largest event of the year, Rose Bowl, and placed third among over 60 high schools in California. The regatta was held in Long Beach at the end of winter break. This past weekend, the sailing team traveled to San Diego to compete in the Harold Adams Team Race, where they also placed third. Great job, Seakings!

Middle School

Today at lunch there is a student vs teachers basketball game in the big gym.

Come out to the Boys Basketball Pack the Gym game vs Dwyer today at 4:00 PM in the small gym. Free pizza will be served!

Dr. Lina Kim from the University of California, Santa Barbara will be here today at lunch in the LRC to invite all interested high school students to attend her presentation on two great summer programs; the Research Mentorship Program and the Summer Research Academies. Both programs offer transferable college credit and specialize in an interdisciplinary research track in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).

CDM High School ASB is hosting a 2V2 basketball tournament beginning after finals week. Games will be played at lunch in the small gym. The winners will receive donuts for their entire class and will play the teachers! Teams of two, turn your permission slips in by Monday, February 3rd to the ASB Store.
