Girls Water Polo plays Laguna Beach in the CIF Championship game this Saturday at 5:30pm at Woollett Aquatic Center!!! Entrance fees are $5.00 for students with id & $10.00 for adults.

ONE has partnered with ASB at CDM to challenge ONE at NHHS (New group) and NHHS ASB to donate gently used or new suitcases and backpacks for OC foster kids. The ONE students heard that the kids currently use trash bags to go from house to house and wanted to do something about it. See attached flyer

AP students - the window for ordering your AP exam will be CLOSING on February 28th. Please don't delay, order your test today!  Head to www.TotalRegistration.net/AP/052128 to get your exam ordered. Talk to Ms. Fletcher, your teacher, or counselor if you have questions. 

Please SAVE THE DATE of  TUESDAY, MARCH 19 to see a compelling presentation of “OVERTAKEN” by Jodi Barber and special guests and their “PRESCRIPTION for PARENTING” and how to deal with the drug epidemic and keep your kids safe. The meeting will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. in the LRC. The PTA invites parents and all students grades 7-12 to join us. Refreshments will be served.

Juniors, if you are interested in taking AP Literature for the 2019-20 school year you must attend a mandatory informational session today, February 14th, if you did not attend the one on February 12th, at lunch in room 209. Look for flyers posted in your current English class.

Come to the AP Language and Composition informational meetings to hear more about the class! Meetings are in Mrs. Yennie's room, room 214 and Ms. Balls room, room 224 at lunch on February 14th.

There is a club president meeting tomorrow, Friday at lunch in the Lecture Hall. 

Congratulations to the Most Inspirational Middle Schoolers for the month of January, enjoy lunch today in the ASB room. Middle school teachers choose a student to honor each month and these students have displayed integrity, resilience and empathy. Again, congrats to these fine middle school students!

The first info meeting about next year's AP Art History class will be in Ms. Valdes's room, 502, during lunch tomorrow.

Come out and support our Girls' Water Polo team as they play in CIF Semi-Finals against Orange Lutheran. Today at 5:00pm at Woollett.

Congrats to the CDM softball team on their big win against Costa Mesa. Freshman Makena Tomlinson hit a home run! The final score was 9-2. Great job ladies

There will be a Valentine's Day Lunch Rally hosted by ASB Wednesday at lunch in the Enclave. Come for treats and entertainment!

This week Pal is hosting Walk in My Shoes week. Walk in My Shoes Week aims to break down social stigmas, help you gain perspective, and put yourself in someone else’s shoes. If you would like to participate by writing your own personal story or even just some inspirational words visit them @wimscdm on instagram and click the link in the bio or scan the QR code on the flyer.

For parents of students with special needs. Come to parent coffee for the “Post High School Options for Students with Special Needs” presentation on Wednesday, February 13th at 10:00 am in the Student Resource Center. Learn about the many different programs offered at community colleges and universities. Also, the several options that the NMUSD Transition programs have to offer.

This past weekend both our girls and boys wrestling teams were competing at CIF championships.  We had two outstanding performances from our Sea King wrestlers.  On the boys side, Emilio Franco earned 3rd place.  For the girls, Kiersten Muse earned 2nd place in the championships making Kiersten a 3-time CIF place winner.  Both Emilio and Kiersten will be competing at their Masters Tournaments this weekend.  Good luck!

MIDDLE SCHOOL

Just a reminder to all middle school girls that want to try out for the middle school girls soccer team.  There will be a meeting today at lunch in the small gym.  Please get there as soon as you can to hear Coach Middleton talk about the tryout process.

Calling all student high school athletes! Tonight, Monday, February 11th at 6:30 pm in the Lecture Hall, Next College Student Athlete – NCSA national recruiting expert, Paul Putnam, will cover the most important parts of the college athletic recruiting process beginning freshman year. He himself, a former D1 athlete, will discuss five important things a high school student athlete needs to know about getting recruited to a big or small college/university.

CDM will be hosting the American Mathematics Competition on February 13. We have 23 brave math students taking on this challenge! We have space for 7 more interested students. Please email Ms. Poly or go to room 311 to sign up. First come first serve. Once the 7 positions are taken, we can no longer accept participants. So don't wait....go to room 311 today!
