Come meet a F-16 (Fighting Falcon) fighter pilot, Lt. Colonel Don Davenport with the United States Air Force today, Friday, March 13th at lunch in the LRC. He has amazing stories about his very successful career in the Air Force including being deployed to Korea and Iraq. He has two Master’s degrees in Aeronautical Science and is certified to fly all types or aircraft except helicopters!

If you're nterested in learning HTML basics and want to learn how to code a website, come to Mr. Garrett's room in the LRC today, during 8th period for an HTML Website Building Workshop hosted by CodeHERS. This event is open to everyone and it's perfect for those interested in getting started with code or looking to express themselves creatively through technology. Snacks will be provided and hope to see you there!

The United States Service Academies Information Night is on Monday, March 16th at 6:30 pm in the LRC for students grades 9-11 and parents. Come learn how you can serve your country and earn a world-class FREE education! Meet the five academy college representatives from the US Navy, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard and Merchant Marines. Also, there will be the US Marines and other military branch representatives available to give information on their ROTC programs that are offered at very prestigious colleges and universities throughout the nation! Attention grades 9-11! Please come to the 7th Annual College Jumpstart Night and Fair on Thursday, March 19th at 6:30 pm in the Learning Resource Center. There will be 35+ colleges from all over the country visiting us. Meet and greet the college representatives and fill out an “interest card” to show how much you would love to be admitted to their school!

Have any unused/old yoga mats laying around your house or garage? If so, bring them to ASB! We are partnering with Mat to Mattress which provides yoga mats to those in need so they have something warm to sleep on. For more info see Mr. Dobyns.

Please consider donating to our PTA Prom Attire Collection Drive benefiting students at Back Bay High School. We are accepting gently used or new dresses, shoes, accessories, button-downs, and slacks for boys and girls in all sizes.   The drop off box is located in the CdM high school office.

Attention 9th-12th graders! CSF applications are now available in the counseling office. Check your school loop email for more info. The deadline to submit to the ASB office is today, Thursday, March 12, at 12:00 PM. Late applications will not be accepted.

Anyone interested in taking AP Psychology next year come to a quick 5 minute info meeting today, Thursday March 12th at lunch in Mr. Decker's room 241.

Current Juniors interested in AP LITERATURE! Please remember that you MUST complete a short reading sample on one of these days: March 10th, 11th, or 12th. Times are posted with your current English teacher and on the window of room 209. Bring a pencil!

There will be an informational meeting for AP US History today at lunch in room 210. Please attend if you are interested in joining. 

Attention high school students who are rising sophomores, juniors and seniors! Orange Coast College is offering their Summer Health Academy once again. There will be a representative here today, Thursday, March 12th at lunch in the LRC to discuss the program with any interested students. This is a fabulous opportunity for students to build upon their current knowledge and for any students interested in the healthcare field but don’t have access to this type of program on their campus. This is a FREE opportunity for students to get their foot in the door to OCC’s Allied Health programs and to start earning college credit. Flyer

HS Students - Come to the 4th annual Inclusion Carnival tomorrow, Friday from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. We'll have carnival games, cotton candy, face painting, DJ, photo booth, and pizza. Admission is free.

The CdM Track and Field Team is hosting a “Fun-dRaiser” this Saturday, March 14th to help the team “Go the Distance!” We invite parents, friends and grandparents to join us for a fun evening featuring dinner and a silent auction. A harbor cruise on a luxury HYBRID YACHT from Bayport Yachts and a GRADUATION PACKAGE are just a few of the exciting items featured in the silent auction. Join the Corona del Mar Madrigal Singers and Masterwork Ensemble, with the Corona del Mar Orchestra in our performance of the Fauré Requiem Mass! The concert is this Saturday at 7:30pm, in the small gym. Tickets are $10 general and $5 student, at the door. We hope to see you there!

Students grades 9-12 are invited to a great college presentation on “How to Choose Your Major” by Camille Crites, Syracuse University, Associate Director of Admissions. Do you know how many times a college student changes their major? Get in-depth information on how the process works when choosing or changing a major and declaring a double major at colleges and universities throughout the nation today, Monday, March 9th at lunch in the Learning Resource Center. This event is especially important for college bound juniors and seniors!

Tonight - Monday, March 9th at 6:30 in the Sea King Theater - Campus Connecting Conversations - A CdM Student and Faculty Forum - CdM Parents, Be sure not to miss your chance to participate in this Student-Faculty-Parent interactive forum. Campus Connecting Conversations is your opportunity to hear live feedback from a panel of CDM students and teachers as they discuss meaningful issues relevant to our community. As part of the evening’s interactive program, parents in the audience will participate in a brief in-your-seat survey, so please don’t forget to bring your smart phone or tablet.

High school students grades 9-11 and parents come to a great college admissions presentation “Secrets of Successful Essays” tonight, Monday, March 9th at 6:30 pm in LRC. The hardest part of applying to college is writing a good essay! Pulitzer Prize winning writer David Marcus shares his college essay expertise. This is a dynamic, humorous presentation. Sign up now for the PACT mock test on Saturday, March 21st at 8:00 am. This practice test is for grades 9-11 and score reporting will only go to the student and parent. Registration is open through the CDM Foundation website www.cdmfoundation.org. Don’t wait until the last minute to sign up! This PACT test is very popular with our CDM students and fills up fast!!
