The school semester is about to end, but the National Honor Society Peer Tutoring program is still continuing throughout the year. Please join us on Monday, January 28th when Mary Hofstedt, the Community Education Director for Challenge Success, will speak to CdM parents on the "Well-Balanced Student" incorporating the data and results from our recent CdM High School Student Survey into her presentation. 7th - 12th grade parents invited! Attention seniors! Please check your school loop email for important information on midyear transcripts. The form is due by February 6th. 

HS Students - Formal is coming up! Tickets are on sale this week for $60 with ASB and $65 without. Get them early because the prices will go up! Formal is on February 9. Stay tuned Wednesday at break to find out the Formal theme and location.

CDM will be competing in the American Mathematics Competition on February 13 and we need you! The competition covers the entire high school curriculum including trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry, but excluding calculus. Interested students should see the sign outside of room 311 for details to sign up. Deadline to sign up is Friday January 25 so go to room 311 today!

There is a Club President's meeting today at lunch in the Lecture Hall.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) meets today at lunch in the Big Gym. Free pizza!

The Multi-Cultural Club is meeting today at lunch in Mrs. Sahi's room, room 213. They will be discussing German culture and having donuts. Everyone is welcome.

Kings Krew Game - Girls water polo vs Laguna Beach at home today, Thursday at 4:00 PM! Come out and watch Maya Avital shut out those Breakers.

Girls water polo beat Newport Harbor last night 6 to 5 in triple over time. Great job girls!

Girls basketball beat Los Alamitos yesterday.

The semi finals and finals are today for the dodgeball tournament at lunch in the small gym.

Applications for the 2019 Okazaki student exchange program are due January 28, 2019. This program is sponsored by the Newport Beach Sister City and by the Rotary Club of Newport Balboa. We are looking forward to another amazing exchange program for Eighth Grade students interested in going to school in Japan.  The application is now online at nbsca.org and newportbeachrotary.com/club-projects

Last Saturday, members of the Speech and Debate Team participated in the Edison High School Model United Nations Conference. Sixty members of the team competed for the whole day, with Maya Galante, Nora Dahl, Simone Oberreiter, Omar Selim, Nils Henrik-Fuertes, Charlie Zhang, and Sara Miller winning awards for their research papers or their performance in committee. Congrats to them!

ATTENTION ALL SENIORS! The deadline to purchase a baby ad in this year's yearbook has been extended as there is still space available. Ads will be accepted on a first come first serve basis through the Herff Jones ad creator (website info is on the flyer).
