Online Driver Education - Registration Begins on May 22, 2017

Online Driver Education - Registration begins on May 22, 2017

The online course accommodates 150 students and will be available after 3 pm on May 29, through 3 pm on June 18, 2017.

The State of California requires 30 hours studying Driver Education before a learners permit is obtained. This online driver education course allows students to study at their own pace, on their schedule, any time of the day or night. This course sets the foundation for behind-the-wheel Driver Training and is in accordance with the guidelines set by the California Department of Motor Vehicles. Upon successful completion, students will receive a DMV- approved certificate of completion. Students may begin taking the online classes on May 29, after 3pm and must complete the course by June 18, 2017 at 3 pm. All students must be 15 years or older on the day the course starts and have internet access to enroll.  All communication related to this program will be delivered by email.

VERY IMPORTANT! All students must have opted to agree to the Student Use of Technology Agreement during the registration process to access the class content. This can still be done on your school’s registration page.

To register please visit our Online Drivers Education website on May 22, 2017 and fill out the online application.

Please contact Tere Russell for more information or questions, trussell@nmusd.us.

Please note that Newport-Mesa Unified School District does not offer Driver Training, otherwise known as behind-the-wheel instruction.
