A message to current AP students.  Test ordering and payments for your AP tests are due February 28th, two days after we get back from break.  You must order your AP tests online at totalregistration.net and pay either at the ASB window or the ASB web store on school loop.  For more information, check your school loop email.

 

Today is the last day to buy your Winter Formal tickets on sale.  Tickets are available for purchase from the ASB window or the student store online.  You must have a signed permission slip to purchase your tickets.  Prices rise after President’s Recess, so make sure to buy your Winter Formal tickets today.

 

Sea Queen water polo lost a tough game to Foothill by one point in overtime.  Congratulations on the fantastic season girls.

 

MIDDLE SCHOOL

 

Congratulations to the new 2nd quarter renaissance students.  586 students are recognized in the middle school renaissance program by achieving a grade average of 3.0.  Great job to our middle school students.

 

Daily Announcements - Thursday, February 15th

Cancer Awareness and Fundraising Club will be selling donuts for $2 and cookies for $1 in the miiddle school quad. Also, guess how many sticks of gum are in a jar, to win a visa gift card and the gum, two guesses per dollar! 

 

The Engineering Club will be meeting today at lunch in room 319, be sure to go check it out

 

If you're interested in taking AP Spanish next year stop by Ms. Palmer or Ms. Ramirez's room today at lunch.

MIDDLE SCHOOL

 

Congratulations to our new 2nd quarter Renaissance students! 586 students are a part of the middle school Renaissance program by achieving a grade average of 3.0 or above and having great citizenship marks in all of their classes.  CDM Middle School has 490 students who have achieved 4 or more outstanding citizenship marks and 17 of these students are being awarded the Outstanding Citizenship reward.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

 

Long Island University will be visiting us today at lunch in the SRC.  

 

The United States Navy will be presenting their Nuclear Power Program on Wednesday at lunch in the SRC. Come hear how exciting the Navy’s nuclear propulsion systems are leading the way into the 21st century with state of art submarines and aircraft carriers!

The Entrepreneur Club will be hosting Randall Pitch, a social media influencer and the CEO & Founder of  Live Fit Apparel. He will be talking about his journey to building an internationally-known lifestyle brand. Randall will be speaking this Wednesday in the lecture hall during lunch. You don't want to miss his talk!

 

Attention to all Future Business Leaders of America members, there is a meeting today in the lecture hall featuring an important speaker. Make sure to attend and have your Eventbrite tickets ready at the door.

The CdM Music Dept. is, once again, hosting Jazz Cafe' - a gathering of solo and small group performances to show off their talent! Also - live performance by the CdM Jazz Ensemble!  The event will be on Friday, March 9th. at 6:00 p.m. on the Main Stage in the Sea King Theater and in the Quad.  Due to the popularity of this event, we are opening up a second outdoor performance space in front of the theater - twice the entertainment! We are also requiring students to audition for performance slots.  Auditions will be held on February 28th in the Instrumental Music Room.  Follow this link to sign up for an audition time

 

Varsity Girls Water Polo will face Foothill in their first round CIF game this Thursday at 6:00 pm at CDM. Come out and support your SEA QUEENS!

CDM's Academic Decathlon team competed over two weekends in the Orange County Regional Competition. Our team won 6 medals overall. Zack Gaber earned 2nd place in art and 2nd place in interview. Austin Pham placed first in economics and 5th in math. Miranda Chang placed 5th in science, and Tony Liang placed 2nd in art. Congratulations to all the students who participated.

 

Come to the quad at lunch today to write a gram to your valentine. Grams are free! Grams with a rose are $1.  Grams also available before school tomorrow.

 

Formal Tickets on sale this week! Prices go up after Ski Week, so get your tickets this week!  Tickets available at the ASB Window or online. (Must have your permission slip signed to purchase ticket)

JV Girls Water Polo placed 3rd in the Back Bay Tournament this past weekend beating Newport Harbor 8-3 in the last game of the season.
