  • C or better to count
  • “Consecutive” language. Highest level completed in High school counts.
  • 2 years required
  • (3 years recommended)
  • On-line courses NOT recommended, provide no verbal practice (required for upper levels, and AP test)

  All languages and courses meet the UC/CSU entrance requirements.

New to CdMHS and want to take a World Language above Level 1?

INCOMING (Students NEW to CdM) World Languages Placement Testing will be given on Monday, June 2 (room 222) and Tuesday, June 3 (room 301) from 1-3 p.m. Students attend one session only, and must arrive by 12:45 and check in at the front office. Please bring a #2 pencil. (NO TEST NECESSARY FOR LEVEL 1.)  Please contact Mrs. Tory Hughes:  toryhughes@nmusd.us to let us know you will be attending or if you have any questions!

OUR PROGRAM

All CdM high school students can enroll in a language course beginning freshman year. No prerequisites required for entry into a high school language course.

CdM offers a full course of study for the following languages:

  • French
  • American Sign Language
  • Mandarin
