OUR PROGRAM

All CdM high school students can enroll in a language course beginning freshman year. No prerequisites required for entry into a level 1 high school language course.

 

CdM offers a full course of study for the following languages:

  • Spanish
  • French
  • American Sign Language
  • Mandarin

INCOMING PLACEMENT TESTING 2017-2018 DATES

New to CdMHS and want to take a World Language above Level 1?

INCOMING students (students NEW to CdM) World Languages Placement Testing will be given on Monday, May 22nd and Tuesday May 30th from 3:00-5:00 pm. Students can come anytime from 3:00-4:00, must begin test by 4:00pm to Room 233. Students attend one date only, and must check in at the front office. Please bring a #2 pencil. (NO TEST NECESSARY FOR LEVEL 1.)  Please contact Ms. Pulido at spulido@nmusd.us to let us know you will be attending or if you have any questions!

UC & CSU REQUIREMENT

  • C or better to count
  • “Consecutive” language. Highest level completed in High school counts.
  • 2 years required
  • (3 years recommended)
  • On-line courses NOT recommended, provide no verbal practice (required for upper levels, and AP test)

  All languages and courses meet the UC/CSU entrance requirements.
