Friday Night Club News

Friday Night Club Additional Friday Night Club Volunteer Opportunities: Here are some additional ways to earn volunteer hours this year: 1) Come an hour early, to help set up for the event. 2) Stay after, to help clean up. 3) Bring homemade baked goods for our events. You can earn 1 hour for every 2 dozen cookies or brownies, OR 2 hours for every 2 dozen gluten-free+dairy-free cookies or brownies. The hours are for purchasing the ingredients, and baking the treats. 4) Bring a case of water (28-32 bottles) for an event and earn 1 service hour. 5) Consider planning a theme party for one of the events on our schedule. In the past, school clubs and outside charities have hosted Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day/March Madness, and Halloween. All you have to do is find a group, plan decorations, movie/games, snacks, etc. 6) Start a Friday Night Club at your high school or college, for the purpose of organizing student volunteers from your school to help at our events. If you have already talked to Natalie about doing this, or if you think you'd like to do this in the fall, please email me at fridaynightclub01@gmail.com, to get on the group list for receiving monthly ideas and support for your club. 7) Share your special talent with our club! Are you a musician? Dancer? Artist? Think of a way you can bring what you know to the special needs teens and young adults who attend Friday Night Club. Our student Art Director, Alice Chi, is a perfect example of how one person can make a difference! Each month, she creates a craft project for the club, records a You Tube video of how to do the project, and we send it out to all members and volunteers. A fun way for Alice to earn community service hours! Email me if you have an idea you'd like to try!
