The CdMHS Music Department announces auditions for the 2013-14 performing groups. Please note that all groups are open to both high school and middle school *however* the competition factor usually keeps the groups to a mostly-high school roster. See the web news for times and available positions:
Madrigals Singers: Auditions are on June 3rd and 4th. Sign up for an audition time on one of those days by going to this web site and following the directions. Also, download the information packet, fill out the form on the last page and bring it to your audition. Madrigals Singers meets during the 0 period hour on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Drumline: There are two mandatory workshops on May 22nd and May 29th from 4-6 p.m. in the music room. Plan on attending both. Drum Line meets after school on Mondays and Wednesdays, 4-6 p.m. Limited spots available. We will be looking for students with ability, drive and dedication. There is no 'previous experience' requirement per-se, however students with little or no drumming experience may find themselves at a disadvantage.
Jazz Band: Positions open for Trumpet, Saxophone, Trombone, Guitar and Drums. (Please note that for guitar and drums, we will only be able to take one player for next year) Contact Mr. Jamora at vjamora@nmusd.us if you are interested. There isn't a set audition time, but we would like you to sit in on a few rehearsals before the year is out. Jazz Band meets during the 0 period hour on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Friday Night Club for Special Needs Teens and Young Adults, a student run, support group of United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County is looking for student leaders at all Orange County High Schools! Friday Night Club is a social gathering, where typical high school students spend time with special needs teens and young adults, playing cards, video games, basketball, ping pong, watching movies, singing karaoke, and other fun activities. WE NEED HIGH SCHOOL VOLUNTEERS! And that is why I am contacting every OC high school - all your high school club would have to do is organize a group of students to serve as volunteers once a month at a Friday Night Club event. Your club would also have the option of participating in other activities for United Cerebral Palsy-OC, to earn community service hours. For more information about Friday Night Club, please view this You Tube link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMvclZl0z7E
8th graders: now is the time to buy your promotion t-shirts! The specially designed promotion themed shirts have two different styles, one for the girls and one for the boys. Only $10! Also available on the CdM web store. While your shopping, don't forget to order your gown and stoll for the promotion ceremony.
Don't forget tomorrow and Wednesday are CST testing! There will be free pancakes both days at the food lines.
